Ms. Jennifer Tuchband joined Keen Independent as a Consultant after working in production for Phoenix Convention Center and Venues. She has been involved in arts and culture management, audience and membership development and customer service for many years. Ms. Tuchband brings practical experience in performing arts and museum management to Keen Independent’s arts and culture practice area, as well as data management and interview expertise relevant to similar projects.
Ms. Tuchband is a 2020 recipient of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) “30 Under 30” Award presented to a select group of emerging leaders in the venue and performing arts management industries. Jennifer’s involvement with IAVM includes serving on the research committee, regional programming committee and as a board member of the IAVM Arizona Chapter where she has helped facilitate professional development for venue managers throughout Arizona.
Ms. Tuchband has worked with Keen Independent on studies for the City of Waco, Texas and Ent Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs. She recently completed work on several cultural assignments including feasibility studies and management assessments for Denver Arts & Venues, Wheeler Opera House, Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center and May Bonfils Stanton Theater. As a key contributor to Keen Independent’s arts and culture practice area, Jennifer conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis, review of ticketing programs, geographic market research, competitive inventory scans and pro-forma budget creation. She also assists Keen Independent with day-to-day business operations.
As part of previous positions in the arts, Ms. Tuchband has performed technical aspects of theater and venue operations for several theaters in Phoenix including the Phoenix Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theater and Herberger Theaters.
For Scottsdale Arts — an umbrella organization promoting four operating organizations in Arizona including Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Public Art and Scottsdale Arts Education & Outreach — Jennifer has served in membership and patron services with a focus on membership and fund development, box office management and marketing.
Ms. Tuchband has assisted on a study assessing the feasibility of a proposed Latino cultural center in Phoenix. She has also worked in hospitality sales, marketing and events in Palma de Mallorca, Spain where she was responsible for Spanish to English translation and database management.
From Arizona State University (ASU), Ms. Tuchband earned her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts Entrepreneurship and Management along with a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. Jennifer also received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design & Production with a minor in Business from ASU.
