2019 May Bonfils Stanton Theater
The Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Westside Investment Partners, Denver Council District 2 and Denver Arts and Venues engaged Keen Independent Research, a Denver-based research firm, to explore the feasibility of reviving the May Bonfils Stanton Theater at Loretto Heights.
Keen Independent analyzed the capacity and demand for performing arts venues in Southwest Denver, including community interest and needs. The study team examined current facility condition, renovation options and operating models for the theater.
The study team held workshops with community members, performing arts organizations, concert promoters and other possible users to better understand the theater’s potential for performances and events.
Study outcomes include recommendations that will serve the community for years to come.
Keen Independent was joined by Victor Gotesman Performing Arts Facilities Planning, Theatre Consultants Collaborative and Venue Cost Consultants, all national theater consulting experts. Alex Keen, Keen Independent Chief Operating Officer, served as the project manager for this assignment.
The study launched in January 2018 and was completed in June 2019.
