The Springfield Art Museum has engaged Keen Independent to help develop a three-year strategic plan. The strategic plan will guide the work of the Museum through an exciting period of transition and transformation. During the period addressed by the plan, the main site will close for renovation, the Museum will operate from temporary quarters and the Museum will eventually reopen in its newly renovated building. The strategic plan will define the Museum’s near and long-term aspirations, support Museum efforts toward forming deeper connections with the community and integrate diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion considerations.

To develop the strategic plan, Keen Independent will collaborate with the Museum to:

  • Assess demographic and market area characteristics;
  • Gather input from staff, volunteers, City leaders, board members and the Springfield community;
  • Review Museum policies, programs and prior results and gather on benchmark organizations; and
  • Define strategic goals and an implementation plan including metrics and tracking processes.

Study team. Keen Independent is a national arts, culture, equity and market research firm headquartered in Phoenix and Denver.

Schedule. The strategic planning process launched in August 2023 and is expected to run through July 2024.
