In summer 2023, the Office of the Dane County Board engaged Keen Independent Research to conduct a workplace climate assessment and to provide recommendations for strategies, policies and actions that will address any current workplace climate challenges identified.

Keen Independent will ask Dane County employees to provide input and comments through interviews, focus groups, a virtual workshop and other means. Everyone’s voice matters!

The goal of this assignment is to gauge current workplace climate conditions and to develop informed recommendations to guide the County towards creating high-performing, positive, equitable and desirable workplace climates across Dane County government.

Study Team

Keen Independent Research is a national equity consulting firm. Principals Annette Humm Keen and Dave Keen are leading this assignment. Keen Independent has extensive experience conducting market research, program development and implementation regarding methods to ensure equity and inclusion in public entities. The firm’s portfolio includes equity studies for the Cities of Madison, Wisconsin and Tacoma, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah. Keen Independent recently completed an external-facing equity assessment for Dane County Parks and Zoo. assessment for Dane County Parks and Zoo.
