New Castle County (NCC) engaged Keen Independent to create a five-year strategic plan that updates Rockwood Park & Museum’s mission and interpretation to reflect the needs of greater Wilmington and the New Castle County community while maintaining the site’s historical integrity.

Rockwood’s updated strategic plan features:

• Clear mission and vision statements;
• Strategic goals and objectives shared by key members of NCC for the upcoming five-year period; and
• Programming, services and operational priorities to best serve its current and potential audiences.

The strategic plan is based on extensive data collection and analysis, a detailed market analysis and multi-pronged engagement of County staff, arts and cultural leaders, Wilmington residents and the greater New Castle County community.

Keen Independent is a national arts, culture, equity and market research firm headquartered in Phoenix and Denver, with staff based in Philadelphia. Alex Keen, Principal at Keen Independent, was the project manager for this study.
